Silence is inner stilness!

“After having struggled madly to solve all problems, after having suffered on the heights of despair, in the supreme hour of revelation, you will find that the only answer, the only reality, is silence.”
—Emil Cioran

In Praise of Idleness

To do nothing at all is the most difficult thing in the world, the most difficult and the most intellectual. If we are to understand
the world, we have to stop acting upon it: we have to contemplate it. Contemplation and action are sworn enemies.
Doing nothing brings forth an angle from which to look at everything with cosmic detachment. Idleness breeds depth of
vision and a truly philosophical perspective.

Are you a slave or a prisoner?

“Some people think they can find satisfaction in good food, fine clothes, lively music, and sexual pleasure. However, when they have all these things, they are not satisfied. They realize happiness is not simply having their material needs met. Thus, society has set up a system of rewards that go beyond material goods. These include titles, social recognition, status, and political power, all wrapped up in a package called self-fulfillment. Attracted by these prizes and goaded on by social pressure, people spend their short lives tiring body and mind to chase after these goals. Perhaps this gives them the feeling that they have achieved something in their lives, but in reality they have sacrificed a lot in life. They can no longer see, hear, act, feel, or think from their hearts. Everything they do is dictated by whether it can get them social gains. In the end, they've spent their lives following other people's demands and never lived a life of their own. How different is this from the life of a slave or a prisoner?”

The funny thing about freewill

A man can do what he wants, but cannot will what he wants. He is free to do whatever he desires. But he is not free to choose his desires. He can choose what he will do, but he cannot choose what he will choose.

POS

Many people are very successful in this world, and they achieve a lot, but there are very few people who understand life or know themselves. Most of us are so engrossed in fulfilling our needs and desires that we never even think of knowing ourselves or solving the riddle of life, nor do we ever feel the need for it.

Trinity

The Self is the ultimate knower. The Self is ever aware. When the Self gets attached and identified with the mind (seer), the underlying oneness of “seer, scene, and seeing” is lost. The Self forgets its real identity by being lost in the details of these three. Due to this entanglement, the Self assumes itself to be an individual mind. The individual mind believes itself to be separate from everything else. The three, which are inherently one, appear fragmented. It assumes a limited existence, instead of being one with totality. This false assumption is called ego. Thus, the mind that lacks wisdom becomes an obstacle in seeing the oneness of the “seer, seen, and seeing”.

Mystery
